Effective Date: 7 September 2026
This Policy explains the fees that may apply at TAU Zambia, how to pay safely and how refund requests are handled. Your individual Statement of Fees, enrolment agreement or other official University document may contain additional terms that apply to you.
1. What Fees May Apply?
Depending on your programme and stage of admission or enrolment, fees may include:
- Application fees
- Admission processing fees
- Seat deposits
- Tuition fees
- Examination or examination retake fees
- Graduation fees
- Other approved academic or administrative charges
Your fees and the currency they are payable in (Zambian Kwacha or US Dollars) will be set out in your official University documents.
2. Frequently Asked Questions
The application fee is non-refundable, except where applicable law requires otherwise or TAU confirms otherwise in writing. Paying an application fee does not guarantee admission.
The seat deposit and admission processing fee are generally non-refundable.
Where TAU formally approves an enrolment deferral, an eligible amount may be carried forward to a future intake in line with the written approval and the applicable University terms. Fees for the future intake may differ.
We understand that plans may change for personal, academic or unforeseen reasons. Tuition fee refunds are subject to the University’s policies and your enrolment conditions. For details of tuition fees, refund eligibility, withdrawal and deferral procedures, see our Handbooks and Policies page. If you need further help, contact our Admissions or Student Support team.
Only pay using payment instructions officially issued or approved by TAU. Before making a payment, check:
- the University or authorised recipient name
- the account or payment details
- the amount due and the currency
- your invoice or student reference
TAU is not responsible for payments sent to an unauthorised person or third-party account because the payer used information not officially issued by the University.
Where an authorised payment provider processes a payment, your payment information may go directly to that provider. TAU does not keep full card details where the provider handles the processing.
Your bank, card provider or mobile money provider may decline a transaction. A declined or incomplete transaction is not normally treated as payment received by TAU. If a payment seems to have failed but money has left your account, contact your bank or provider and TAU with the transaction reference.
- Contact the TAU Finance, Admissions or Student Services team.
- Give your student or application details.
- Provide the payment receipt or transaction reference.
- Explain why you are asking for a refund.
- Send any supporting documents TAU asks for.
TAU will review the request against the terms that apply to the payment. If a refund is approved, we will tell you how it will be paid and when to expect it. You can also email your refund request and supporting documents to [CONFIRM: finance / refunds email, e.g. [email protected]].
Bank charges, currency-conversion costs and other fees charged by banks or payment providers are outside TAU’s control. Any deduction made by a third-party service provider may affect the amount finally received or returned.
3. Card Disputes and Chargebacks
Please contact us before disputing a payment with your bank. If a chargeback is raised for fees that are not refundable under this Policy, TAU may suspend access to University services until the matter is resolved.
4. Questions About a Payment?
Contact TAU using the official contact details on tau.edu.zm or in your University documents.
Important: never rely on payment instructions received from an unverified personal email, social-media account or messaging profile. Payments are only made to [CONFIRM: Zambian registered company name, e.g. Texila American University Zambia Limited] or an account TAU confirms in writing.
