Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) recently conducted an orientation for its September intake of MBChB students, officially marking the start of their journey toward becoming medical doctors. The event introduced students to the university’s academic environment, curriculum, and resources designed to support their professional growth.
Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Balamurugan Easwaran, welcomed the new students, emphasizing the importance of dedication and discipline in the medical field. “Medicine is a demanding but highly rewarding profession. As you begin this journey, remember that your commitment to learning, compassion, and integrity will shape not only your career but the lives of the patients you will serve,” he said.
Dr. Amit Singh, Dean of the School of Medicine, encouraged students to embrace every opportunity for hands-on learning and to actively engage with faculty and peers. “Your journey to becoming a doctor begins here, and it will require curiosity, resilience, and teamwork. Take advantage of the knowledge and guidance available to you, and always strive for excellence,” he remarked.
Faculty members from the School of Medicine also guided students on academic expectations, professional conduct, and campus resources, ensuring a smooth transition into university life.
The orientation forms part of TAUZ’s commitment to Bringing Education to Life, providing students with the foundation, support, and inspiration needed to succeed in the medical profession and make a meaningful impact in healthcare locally and globally.
