Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) hosted an engaging Information Technology (IT) Workshop for Grade 12 pupils in Lusaka under the theme “Empowering Your Digital Future.” The event aimed at inspiring young learners to embrace technology-driven careers and digital innovation.
In her welcome remarks, Ms. Jaqueline Siwale, Acting Dean of the School of Business and IT, extended a warm welcome to the pupils and encouraged them to take advantage of such opportunities to prepare for a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
“We are delighted to have you here at Texila American University Zambia,” Ms. Siwale said. “The future belongs to those who can adapt and innovate using technology. This workshop is designed to give you a glimpse into how IT shapes every sector of the economy and how you can be part of that transformation.”

Faculty members from the School of Business and IT provided additional academic and professional guidance throughout the sessions.
Participants also had the opportunity to embark on a guided campus tour, where they explored university facilities, including computer laboratories, lecture theatres, and learning resource centers, giving them a firsthand experience of university life at Texila.
Delivering the closing remarks, Mr. Towani Kawonga, Lecturer in the School of Business and IT, commended the pupils for their active participation and enthusiasm throughout the workshop.
“We hope today’s experience has sparked your curiosity and motivated you to pursue knowledge in the field of Information Technology,” Mr. Kawonga said. “The digital future begins with the choices you make today—embrace innovation, creativity, and continuous learning.”
