Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) Quality Assurance Manager, Ms. Niza Rean Simwanza, participated in a Capacity Building Workshop on Internal Quality Assurance Practices in Higher Education Institutions. The workshop was organized by the Higher Education Authority (HEA) and held at the Mulungushi Conference Centre in Lusaka.
The event brought together quality assurance professionals from various universities and colleges across Zambia to deliberate on best practices in strengthening internal quality assurance (IQA) systems within higher education institutions. Participants had the opportunity to engage with national and regional experts, explore quality assurance frameworks, and share experiences aimed at fostering a culture of continuous improvement in teaching, learning, research, and governance.
Speaking after the workshop, Ms. Simwanza described the experience as insightful and timely, particularly as institutions of higher learning face increasing demands for accountability and academic excellence.
“The workshop was incredibly insightful. It provided a platform to reflect on our internal quality systems while learning from best practices within the Zambian higher education landscape. I’m confident the knowledge shared will further enhance our ongoing efforts to ensure academic quality and institutional effectiveness at Texila American University Zambia,” she said.
Ms. Simwanza added that TAUZ remains committed to upholding and improving quality standards in line with national regulatory expectations and global benchmarks.
The workshop reaffirmed the importance of effective internal quality mechanisms as a foundation for student success, institutional sustainability, and national development.
