Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ), in collaboration with the Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI), recently hosted a Business Talk Series under the theme “Celebrating Wins Through a Positive Mindset.” The event brought together business leaders, professionals, and students for an engaging discussion on the importance of maintaining a positive mindset in personal and professional success.
The session was delivered by Dr. Sylvia Mwansa, Chief Executive Officer of SBM Training & Consulting Institute, who shared valuable insights on how individuals and organisations can cultivate a positive mindset to overcome challenges, celebrate achievements, and remain motivated in the pursuit of success. Dr. Mwansa emphasised that recognising both small and major accomplishments plays a crucial role in building confidence, resilience, and long-term growth.
Welcoming the participants, Dean of the School of Medicine at Texila American University Zambia, Dr. Amit Singh, expressed appreciation to the Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry for partnering with the university in delivering the talk series. He highlighted the importance of such engagements in bridging the gap between academia and industry, while providing students and professionals with opportunities to learn from experienced leaders in the business community.
Also speaking during the event, Acting Dean for the School of Business, Ms. Jacqueline Siwale, encouraged participants to embrace a positive outlook in both their academic and professional journeys. She noted that cultivating the right mindset is essential for success in today’s dynamic business environment and urged students to remain resilient, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning.
The event was graced by Lusaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Vice President – Trade and Commerce, Mr. Gideon Chibuye, who attended as Guest of Honour. ZACCI Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Mumba, was also present, underscoring the importance of collaboration between higher education institutions and the business community. The Business Talk Series forms part of Texila American University Zambia’s continued efforts to create platforms for knowledge sharing, leadership development, and meaningful dialogue between academia and industry. Through such initiatives, the university aims to equip students and professionals with the skills, perspectives, and mindset needed to thrive in today’s competitive world.
