Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) and the Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM) have renewed their longstanding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), reaffirming their shared commitment to advancing professional development and strengthening human capital in Zambia.
The signing ceremony, held at the TAUZ campus in Lusaka, marked another milestone in the enduring partnership between the two institutions. The renewed agreement continues to offer tuition fee discounts to ZIM members and their immediate family members who enrol in programmes at Texila American University Zambia. It also expands collaboration in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programmes, executive training, short courses, and specialised workshops aimed at enhancing the competencies and leadership capacity of marketing professionals.
Speaking during the ceremony, TAUZ Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Balamurugan Easwaran, emphasized the importance of aligning academic institutions with industry needs. He stated that universities play a critical role in developing industry-ready professionals who are innovative, ethically grounded, digitally competent, and globally competitive.
Dr. Easwaran noted that the partnership with ZIM strengthens knowledge exchange between academia and practitioners, ensuring that programmes remain relevant and responsive to the evolving demands of the business environment. He added that TAUZ remains committed to contributing meaningfully to national development by equipping human capital for industry with practical and research-driven knowledge.
On his part, ZIM Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Danny Chanda, described the renewal of the MoU as a strategic opportunity for members to enhance their qualifications and remain competitive in a rapidly changing marketing landscape. He encouraged members to take advantage of the tuition benefits and professional development opportunities provided under the agreement.
Dr. Chanda further advised professionals to prioritize quality, accreditation, and industry relevance when selecting institutions of higher learning, noting that investing in quality education yields long-term career benefits.
TAUZ Registrar, Ms. Suguna Subbraj, expressed gratitude to ZIM for its continued collaboration, describing the Institute as an “all-weather friend” whose partnership has consistently supported professional growth and excellence.
Dr. Angelo Salasini from the School of Business provided an overview of the MoU, highlighting areas of cooperation including postgraduate programmes, research collaboration, executive education, and professional networking initiatives.
The ceremony was witnessed by members of the ZIM Council, including the Council Secretary, underscoring the strong institutional ties between the two organisations.
