Students from Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) recently participated in an insightful Green Development Workshop hosted by Share Vision Network, aimed at enhancing awareness and understanding of climate change and sustainable development.
The workshop was facilitated by Ms. Luyando Mwilu, the Climate Change and Green Environment Coordinator at Share Vision Network, who delivered an engaging and informative presentation on Climate Change and Sustainable Development. Ms. Mwilu provided participants with practical insights into the causes and effects of climate change, as well as strategies for promoting environmental sustainability at both community and institutional levels.
During the session, students were taken through key concepts in green development, environmental protection, and climate resilience, with particular emphasis on the role of young people and future professionals in addressing climate-related challenges. The interactive nature of the workshop encouraged active participation, dialogue, and critical thinking among the students.
The initiative aligns with Texila American University Zambia’s commitment to promoting environmental awareness, sustainable practices, and responsible citizenship among its students. Through partnerships with organisations such as Share Vision Network, the University continues to provide platforms that complement academic learning with practical, real-world exposure. Students who attended the workshop expressed appreciation for the knowledge gained, noting that the session broadened their understanding of climate change issues and the importance of integrating sustainability into their academic and professional pursuits.
