Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) and the Zambia Medical Association (ZMA) have officially renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), reaffirming a strong and long-standing partnership aimed at advancing healthcare and medical education in Zambia.
The renewal ceremony brought together senior leadership from both institutions, underscoring the importance of continued collaboration between academia and the medical profession. The ZMA delegation was led by its President, Dr. Masiku Phiri, accompanied by Secretary General Dr. Innocent Ngwira and Treasurer Dr. Naluca Mwendaweli. Texila American University was represented by Deputy Vice Chancellor Dr. Balamurugan Easwaran, Dean of the School of Medicine Dr. Amit Singh, and Marketing Manager Ms. Mercy Kasongo.
Speaking during the engagement, Deputy Vice Chancellor Dr. Balamurugan Easwaran expressed appreciation for the enduring relationship between the two institutions. He noted that the partnership with ZMA has stood the test of time and continues to deliver value to the medical fraternity. He further conveyed gratitude to the ZMA leadership for their continued collaboration and trust in Texila American University.
Dr. Amit Singh, Dean of the School of Medicine, reaffirmed the university’s commitment to delivering high-quality medical education tailored to the needs of healthcare professionals. He highlighted a range of academic opportunities available to ZMA members, including Master’s programmes in Public Health and PhD programmes, designed to enhance both academic advancement and professional growth.
ZMA President Dr. Masiku Phiri welcomed the renewal of the partnership, expressing confidence in the continued collaboration. He stated that ZMA remains committed to strengthening its relationship with Texila American University, noting that the renewed MoU opens new avenues for impactful cooperation that will benefit its members and the broader healthcare sector.
