Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) has officially welcomed a new cohort of students under the Health Professions Foundation Program (HPFP) during a successful orientation session held at its Lilayi Campus.
The event, graced by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ajay Poddar, together with members of the university’s management and academic teams, aimed to familiarize the new students with the university environment, academic expectations, and support services available to them.
In his address, Prof. Poddar congratulated the new students on joining Texila American University Zambia, describing their enrollment as the beginning of a transformative journey towards becoming healthcare professionals. He encouraged them to embrace discipline, commitment, and teamwork throughout their studies.
“I urge you to make the most of the opportunities available at Texila. Our goal is not just to educate but to nurture competent, ethical, and globally competitive professionals who can make a meaningful impact in society,” he said.
During the orientation, various departments, including Academics, Student Services, Finance, ICT, and the Library, made presentations highlighting the roles they play in supporting students’ academic and personal development.
The orientation also provided a platform for students to interact with university staff and familiarize themselves with campus facilities and policies.
The Health Professions Foundation Program (HPFP) at Texila American University Zambia serves as a preparatory course designed to equip students with essential knowledge and skills in science-related subjects before they progress to degree programs in Medicine, Nursing, and other health disciplines.
The day concluded with an interactive session where students had the opportunity to ask questions and share their expectations, marking the start of an exciting academic journey at Texila American University Zambia.
