Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) Students Representative Council (SRC) has hosted an informative seminar for medical students aimed at providing insight into the medical profession and preparing students for the journey ahead as future doctors in Zambia and beyond.
The seminar brought together experienced medical professionals and faculty members from the School of Medicine, including Dr. Sunita Sethy, Dr. Rajesh Amberpet, and Dr. Ryan Nkhoma, who shared their professional experiences, career guidance, and expectations of medical practitioners in today’s healthcare environment.
During the session, students were enlightened on the realities of the medical field, the importance of professionalism, discipline, hard work, and continuous learning throughout their medical careers. The speakers also encouraged students to remain committed to academic excellence and ethical medical practice as they prepare to serve communities locally and internationally.
Speaking during the seminar, SRC Academic Secretary, Natha Zeeshan Salim, said the initiative was important in helping students understand the demands and opportunities within the medical profession.
He noted that such engagements motivate students to work harder and remain focused on achieving their goals in the healthcare sector.
The seminar also provided students with an opportunity to interact directly with faculty members, ask questions, and gain practical advice from professionals with experience in the medical field. TAUZ continues to promote academic excellence and student development through interactive learning platforms, mentorship programmes, and professional engagement activities designed to prepare students for successful careers.
