Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) successfully hosted the TAUZ and Hutnet Africa SME Investment Expo at its Lilayi campus, showcasing the resilience and innovation of Zambia’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The event attracted approximately 20 exhibitors who presented a variety of products and services, fostering a vibrant networking platform for entrepreneurs, investors, and business enthusiasts.
The Expo highlighted TAUZ’s commitment to supporting Zambia’s economic growth by facilitating opportunities for SMEs to connect, collaborate, and expand their reach. Exhibitors had the chance to display innovative solutions, engage with prospective clients, and discuss investment possibilities that can drive business growth in Zambia.
The government’s dedication to fostering an enabling environment for SMEs was emphasized in a speech delivered on behalf of the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise Development, Ms. Subeta Mutelo. Speaking through Mr. Kennedy Mumba, the Director of Business Development, Ms. Mutelo noted the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure SMEs can thrive, acknowledging the sector’s critical role in bolstering Zambia’s economy.
“The government is working tirelessly to support and ensure sustainable growth for SMEs. Events like the TAUZ and Hunter Africa SME Investment Expo are essential for showcasing the innovation and resilience within our SME community,” said Mr. Mumba on behalf of Ms. Mutelo.
TAUZ Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ajay Poddar, expressed his appreciation for the partnership with Hunter Africa, emphasizing the role of the university as a hub for business knowledge, innovation, and empowerment. “At TAUZ, we believe in fostering an ecosystem that supports SMEs in their journey to success. We’re proud to provide a platform where businesses can connect and grow,” Prof. Poddar stated.
