Speaking during the ceremony, TAUZ officials emphasized the importance of collaboration between academic institutions and professional bodies in driving national development. The MoU is expected to create opportunities for knowledge sharing, skills development, and joint initiatives that will benefit both institutions and the wider healthcare sector.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Texila American University Zambia by the Dean of the School of Medicine, Dr Amit Singh, and the Registrar, Ms Suguna. Representing the Zambia Paediatric Association were its President, Dr Donald Mumba, Secretary General, Dr Nawa Kalima, and Administrative Assistant, Dr Fredrick Tembo.
As part of the partnership, members of the Zambia Paediatric Association will benefit from exclusive tuition discounts across a range of academic programmes offered by TAUZ. These include programmes in Medicine, Public Health, and Business Management, all designed to equip professionals with relevant and globally competitive skills.
In addition to academic opportunities, the MoU also provides for Continuous Professional Development programmes tailored to the needs of paediatric practitioners. The collaboration will further extend to curriculum development consultations, research initiatives, and community outreach programmes.
Officials from both institutions expressed optimism that the partnership will not only enhance career growth for ZPA members but also contribute to improving the quality of paediatric healthcare services in Zambia.
