Lusaka, Zambia — Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ), through its Medical Club and Humanitarian Club, hosted a successful blood donation drive in collaboration with the Zambia National Blood Transfusion Service (ZNBTS) and Pledge 25. The event was further supported by the Resident Doctors Association of Zambia (RDAZ), whose President, Dr. Paul Chibwe, attended the event in person to encourage student participation and highlight the importance of voluntary blood donation.
The initiative drew enthusiastic participation from both students and staff, with many coming forward to donate blood and contribute to the lifesaving cause. It marked yet another demonstration of TAUZ’s commitment to public health advocacy and student-driven humanitarian service.
Speaking during the event, TAUZ Vice Chancellor, Professor Ajay Poddar, commended the collaborative effort and the spirit of service shown by the students and partners.
“We are proud to partner with ZNBTS, Pledge 25, and the Resident Doctors Association of Zambia in advancing the noble cause of voluntary blood donation. Such initiatives not only serve the healthcare needs of our communities but also help shape socially responsible medical professionals. TAUZ remains committed to nurturing a spirit of compassion and service in all our students,” said Prof. Poddar.
