The Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) on Friday conducted an enlightening Insight Cybersecurity Awareness sensitisation session for faculty and staff at Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ), held at the Lilayi Campus.
The session was led by a dedicated team from ZICTA, including Mr. Edgar Mlauzi, Mr. Kennedy Kapembwa, and Ms. Memory Sichula, who took the audience through key issues surrounding cybercrime, digital threats, and best practices in protecting personal and institutional data in today’s digital landscape.
The interactive session allowed staff members to engage directly with the ZICTA team, asking questions and discussing real-life scenarios related to online safety and cybersecurity challenges faced in professional and personal spaces.
Speaking at the close of the session, TAUZ Vice Chancellor Prof. Ajay Poddar thanked the ZICTA team on behalf of the University, praising their efforts to build awareness and educate institutions on the importance of cyber safety.
“We are truly grateful to the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority for this important initiative. The knowledge shared today is not only valuable for our staff but will also help in shaping a culture of responsible digital practices across our University,” said Prof. Poddar.
The event forms part of Texila’s ongoing commitment to digital literacy and its broader collaboration with national institutions to promote safe and secure use of technology in higher education.
