Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM), marking a significant step toward strengthening collaboration in human capital development, training, research, and professional capacity building.
The MoU was signed by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Balamurugan Easwaran, on behalf of Texila American University Zambia, while Mr. Isaac Dumbe, Corporate Affairs Specialist, signed on behalf of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
Providing an overview of the MoU, the Dean for the School of Public Health, Prof. Patrick Chanda, outlined the key areas of collaboration between the two institutions. He highlighted that the partnership will focus on capacity building, continuous professional development, research initiatives, and knowledge exchange aimed at equipping professionals with relevant skills to address emerging workforce challenges.
Speaking on behalf of ZIHRM, Ms. Buumba M. Mwila, Manager – Training, CPD and Research, emphasised the importance of the partnership in enhancing professional standards and supporting skills development within the human resource management sector. She noted that the collaboration with TAUZ presents opportunities for joint training programmes and research activities that will benefit both institutions and the wider professional community.
Ms. Susan Mangani, Membership Officer at ZIHRM, also addressed the gathering and underscored the value of academic–professional partnerships in promoting continuous learning, professional growth, and ethical practice among human resource practitioners in Zambia.
Delivering the Vote of Thanks, Dr. Angelo Salasini, Senior Faculty member in the School of Business Management at TAUZ, expressed appreciation to both institutions for the commitment demonstrated in formalising the partnership. He reaffirmed TAUZ’s dedication to fostering meaningful collaborations that contribute to academic excellence, professional development, and national development.
The signing of the MoU reflects Texila American University Zambia’s ongoing commitment to building strategic partnerships with professional bodies and institutions that align with its mission of producing competent, industry-ready graduates and contributing positively to society.
