Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) has officially announced its accreditation with the British Accreditation Council (BAC) — a prestigious recognition that affirms the University’s commitment to international standards of academic excellence, governance, and quality assurance. The announcement was made during a Press Conference held at the University’s Lilayi Campus in Lusaka.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Mr. Emmanuel Mumba, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI); Dr. Paul Chibwe, President of the Resident Doctors Association of Zambia (RDAZ); and Mr. Christopher Kalumba, President of the Public Health Association of Zambia (PHAZ). Also in attendance were representatives from the Ministry of General Education, namely Ms. Gladys Ntele and Ms. Prisca Ngenda, both Senior University Education Officers.
Speaking during the Press Conference, the University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ajay Poddar expressed pride in this achievement, noting that the BAC accreditation marks a new milestone in TAUZ’s growth and global recognition. He highlighted that the accreditation reaffirms the University’s commitment to delivering education that meets internationally recognized standards and aligns with global best practices.
“This accreditation positions Texila American University Zambia among globally recognized institutions and assures our students, partners, and stakeholders of our dedication to quality education and continuous improvement,” said Prof. Poddar.
The British Accreditation Council is a globally respected body that accredits independent higher education institutions for maintaining excellence in academic delivery, institutional management, and student welfare. TAUZ’s accreditation signifies that the University meets the rigorous standards required for international recognition and credibility.
Also speaking at the event, guest representatives commended TAUZ for its continued pursuit of excellence and its role in contributing to Zambia’s higher education landscape. Media personnel from various television, radio, and print outlets covered the event, reflecting the national significance of this achievement.
