Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) recently hosted Grade 12 pupils from Ashford Academy for an enriching career guidance session and an interactive tour of its Lilayi Campus, aimed at exposing learners to university life and future academic pathways.
The pupils were guided through various career opportunities available at TAUZ by faculty members Dr. Angelo Salasini, Mr. Elvin Mfuzi, and Mr. Harrison Kalenga, who shared insights on different programmes offered by the university and the relevance of informed career choices at secondary school level. The session allowed learners to engage directly with the faculty, ask questions, and gain clarity on disciplines aligned with their interests and career aspirations.
As part of the visit, the pupils toured several ultra-modern facilities on campus, including state-of-the-art laboratories, the library, and the computer laboratory. The highlight of the tour was the on-campus Dissection Laboratory, which the pupils found particularly fascinating, describing it as a unique learning facility that sets TAUZ apart from many institutions.
The Ashford Academy pupils expressed excitement and appreciation for the exposure, noting that the visit broadened their understanding of university education and inspired them to consider careers in health sciences and other professional fields.
TAUZ continues to engage secondary schools through career guidance and campus tours as part of its commitment to supporting learners in making informed decisions about higher education and future careers.
