Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) welcomed Grade 12 pupils from Ashford Academy for a Career Guidance Session and a guided tour of its Lilayi campus, as part of the university’s community outreach and education support initiatives.
The session aimed to provide the visiting pupils with valuable insights into various academic and career opportunities available in Zambia and beyond. Faculty members from the School of Business Management, led by Ms. Jacqueline Siwale, delivered an inspiring presentation on career paths in business, entrepreneurship, and management. The interactive session encouraged pupils to ask questions and explore future possibilities in the ever-evolving professional world.
Adding to the experience, the Student Representative Council (SRC) President, Mr. Aquila Chilanga, shared his personal journey as a medical student at TAUZ. He spoke about the academic environment, student life, and the supportive learning atmosphere that shapes students into competent professionals. His testimony resonated with the pupils, especially those aspiring to pursue careers in medicine and health sciences.
The pupils also enjoyed a comprehensive campus tour, which showcased TAUZ’s modern learning facilities, student spaces, and serene environment conducive for academic growth. The tour aimed to give prospective students a realistic feel of university life and inspire them to set higher educational goals.
Speaking after the event, Ms. Jacqueline Siwale expressed TAUZ’s continued commitment to supporting high school learners in making informed career choices. “We believe that early exposure to university life and professional guidance helps young people make better decisions for their future,” she said.
TAUZ continues to engage secondary schools through initiatives that bridge the gap between high school education and university readiness, reinforcing its mission of Bringing Education to Life.
