Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) joined the world in celebrating Women’s Day with a vibrant and engaging event filled with dance, drama, music, and an informative talk on the importance of valuing women. The celebration, held at the Lilayi Campus, brought together faculty and staff in a spirit of appreciation and empowerment.
In his welcome remarks, TAUZ Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ajay Poddar, emphasized the crucial role that women play in society and the importance of fostering a culture of respect, equality, and empowerment.
“Women are the backbone of our families, workplaces, and communities. At Texila American University Zambia, we are committed to promoting gender equality and ensuring that women have equal opportunities to excel in all spheres of life. Today, we celebrate not just the achievements of women but also the resilience, strength, and contributions they bring to the world,” Prof. Poddar stated.
He further encouraged students to champion women’s rights and support efforts to create an inclusive society.
The event was not short of entertainment, as attendees enjoyed energetic dance performances, thought-provoking plays, and live musical acts that added excitement to the celebration. A special highlight of the day was an insightful talk on the value of women, where speakers shared powerful messages on gender equality, women’s empowerment, and the need for continued progress.
As the event came to a close, participants bonded over refreshments and light snacks, making the day even more memorable. Texila American University Zambia continues to be an advocate for gender equity, inspiring students and staff to celebrate and support women beyond just one day of the year.
