The First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Honourable Malungo Chisangano, has welcomed Texila American University’s initiative to collaborate with the Parliamentary Committee for Health and Community Development in advancing healthcare and education in Zambia.
Hon. Chisangano made the remarks on Wednesday, 22nd January 2025, when she met with the Founder and President of Texila American University, Mr. Saju Bhaskar, and the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ajay Kumar Poddar, during a courtesy call in the Amusaa Mwanamwambwa Committee Room at Parliament.
She commended the university for its role in advancing medical education and training, noting that its contributions were crucial in strengthening Zambia’s healthcare system. She further urged the institution to develop literacy programmes that can be implemented nationwide to enhance knowledge and skills across various communities.
In response, Mr. Bhaskar and Prof. Poddar reaffirmed Texila American University’s commitment to fostering meaningful partnerships that drive positive change in the education and health sectors.
The meeting marked a significant step toward collaboration between Texila American University and the Zambian government in addressing key national priorities through education and research.
