Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) students continue to make a difference through humanitarian efforts, this time conducting a Cervical Cancer Awareness Campaign at Kamulanga Secondary School in Lusaka.
The students, accompanied by professional health personnel and lecturers, engaged pupils in an informative and interactive session aimed at educating young people about the importance of early detection and prevention of cervical cancer. Through powerful spoken word poetry and thought-provoking sketches, the students creatively communicated vital messages about the disease, leaving a lasting impact on their audience.
Ms. Niza Rean, a lecturer from TAUZ who accompanied the students, commended their dedication to community service. “It is inspiring to see our students take the initiative to educate others on such a critical health issue. Their passion and creativity in delivering these messages show that they are not just future healthcare professionals but also compassionate leaders who care about their communities,” she said.
Professional health personnel provided in-depth talks on cervical cancer, highlighting risk factors, symptoms, and the importance of vaccination and regular screening. The event was well received by both pupils and teachers at Kamulanga Secondary School, who expressed gratitude for the informative and engaging session.
TAUZ remains committed to fostering a culture of social responsibility among its students, ensuring they apply their knowledge beyond the classroom to make a real difference in society.
