The Information and Communications Technology Association of Zambia (ICTAZ) recently held an interactive and informative session with IT students at Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ), setting the foundation for establishing an ICTAZ Student Chapter at the university. This initiative is expected to foster greater collaboration between the professional body and the students, offering them unique opportunities for growth and development in the dynamic ICT sector.
During the session, students gained valuable insights into ICTAZ’s vision, activities, and benefits, including mentorship, training, and exposure to industry best practices. These elements are critical for preparing students to thrive in Zambia’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.
TAUZ IT lecturer, Mr. Towani Kawonga, praised the students’ enthusiasm, emphasizing the potential impact of this collaboration. “The students are thrilled about the opportunity to work closely with ICTAZ. This partnership is a gateway for them to enhance their skills, connect with industry leaders, and contribute to the growth of ICT in Zambia,” he said.
The proposed ICTAZ Student Chapter will serve as a bridge between academia and industry, equipping students with the practical knowledge and tools needed to excel in their careers.
This initiative not only promises to elevate the university’s IT students but also aligns with TAUZ’s mission to deliver holistic education. By empowering students with hands-on experiences and professional networks, the collaboration will play a pivotal role in fostering technological innovation and advancing Zambia’s digital transformation agenda.
