Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) extended a warm welcome to the new cohort of Health Professions Foundation Program (HPFP) students during an engaging orientation session at the Lilayi Campus. The program aimed to familiarize the students with the university’s services, academic structure, and various facilities available to support their educational journey.
Leading the orientation were Vice Chancellor Prof. Ajay Poddar and Deputy Vice Chancellor Dr. Balamurugan Easwaran, who were joined by university staff and faculty members in welcoming the new students to the TAUZ community.
In his address, Prof. Ajay Poddar encouraged the students to embrace the foundation program as a critical stepping stone toward their future careers in healthcare.
“This program is designed to equip you with the foundational knowledge and skills required to succeed in your medical and health-related studies. At TAUZ, we are committed to providing you with a supportive learning environment where you can thrive academically and personally. The journey may be challenging, but with dedication and the right guidance, you will succeed,” Prof. Poddar said.
Deputy Vice Chancellor Dr. Balamurugan Easwaran echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the importance of building a strong academic base and making the most of the university’s resources.
“The Health Professions Foundation Program is the first step toward a rewarding career in healthcare. We encourage you to stay curious, work hard, and take advantage of the mentorship and support systems in place. Your success is our priority, and we are here to guide you every step of the way,” Dr. Easwaran remarked.
Throughout the orientation, students were introduced to various university departments, including the library, administration, examinations, student affairs, and academic support services among others. The session also highlighted extracurricular opportunities and the university’s commitment to holistic student development.
New HPFP students expressed excitement about joining the program, stating, We excited to start our academic journey at Texila American University Zambia. The orientation gave us a clear understanding of the support available.
