Employees from various departments at Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) recently participated in a professional fire safety training program held at the university’s Lilayi Campus. The initiative aimed to equip staff with essential skills and knowledge to handle fire emergencies effectively, ensuring a safer campus environment.
The training was conducted by expert fire safety trainers, who engaged participants in both theoretical and practical sessions on fire prevention, response strategies, and the use of firefighting equipment.
TAUZ Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ajay Poddar, took time to observe the training in progress and commended the initiative, emphasizing its importance in promoting safety and preparedness within the university.
Speaking during the event, TAUZ Administrative Manager, Mr. Ackim Mwale, highlighted the value of the program. “This training is crucial for our institution. It empowers our staff with the skills necessary to respond to fire emergencies, thereby safeguarding lives and property. As a university, we prioritize safety as a cornerstone of our operations,” he said.
The fire safety training reflects TAUZ’s commitment to fostering a secure and well-prepared campus, aligning with its broader mission of creating a conducive environment for learning and growth.
