Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) recently held its Student Representative Council (SRC) elections, marking another milestone in the institution’s commitment to promoting student leadership and democratic values on campus.
The elections, which attracted an impressive voter turnout, saw students from various programs participate in choosing their preferred representatives to form the new SRC. The voting process was conducted in a peaceful and transparent manner, with students lining up early to cast their votes.
Speaking after the elections, the Dean of Student Affairs commended the student body for their active participation and orderly conduct throughout the process.
“We are proud of how our students embraced this democratic exercise. The large turnout reflects a growing sense of responsibility and unity among our students,” he said.
The newly elected SRC members are expected to play a vital role in representing the interests of students, coordinating campus activities, and serving as a bridge between the student body and university management.
The elections were preceded by weeks of spirited campaigns, debates, and manifestos, which created a vibrant atmosphere on campus and allowed candidates to engage directly with their peers.
The Office of Student Affairs extended its congratulations to all elected representatives and encouraged them to uphold the values of leadership, integrity, and service.
With the new SRC in place, the university looks forward to a dynamic year of student-driven initiatives and greater collaboration in enhancing the campus experience for all.
