Faculty members of the Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) who serve on the university’s ethics committee recently participated in an intensive two-day workshop on research ethics. The training was conducted by the National Health Research Authority (NHRA), aiming to enhance the ethical oversight of research activities at the university.
The workshop provided valuable insights into the ethical considerations and regulatory requirements essential for conducting responsible research. Topics covered included the principles of informed consent, the protection of human subjects, ethical review processes, and the importance of maintaining integrity in research.
The NHRA, recognized for its commitment to promoting high standards of research ethics in Zambia, tailored the training to address the specific needs and challenges faced by the TAUZ ethics committee. This initiative aligns with the university’s dedication to upholding ethical standards in all research endeavors.
Participants expressed appreciation for the depth of knowledge shared during the workshop.
The training is part of TAUZ’s broader efforts to ensure that its faculty and staff are well-prepared to oversee and conduct ethical research. By collaborating with the NHRA, TAUZ demonstrates its commitment to fostering a research environment that prioritizes the rights and welfare of participants.
TAUZ continues to prioritize professional development for its faculty, recognizing that such initiatives are crucial for maintaining academic excellence and integrity. The university looks forward to implementing the insights gained from the workshop to further strengthen its research practices.
