Texila American University Zambia (TAUZ) hosted over 120 pupils from Dafloyed Tuition Center in Lusaka for a dynamic Career Talk and Campus Tour as part of the university’s ongoing outreach and engagement initiatives. The event was aimed at inspiring young learners and offering them a glimpse into the world of higher education and the academic possibilities that lie ahead.
The pupils, mainly from senior secondary levels, were warmly received by the university’s academic and administrative staff. The Career Talk, held in one of the university’s lecture halls, featured presentations from faculty members and student leaders who shared insights on various career paths in medicine, health sciences, business, IT, and public health, among others.
Speaking during the session, TAUZ business development executive Ms Mercy Lwando emphasized the importance of early career guidance and encouraged the visiting students to remain focused and ambitious in their educational journey. The speakers, who included faculty members in the School of Business Management Ms. Jaqueline Siwale and Dr. Angelo Salasini also highlighted the range of programs offered at TAUZ, including undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, and foundation programs such as the Health Professions Foundation Program (HPFP).
Following the talk, the pupils were taken on a guided tour of the Lilayi Campus, where they explored the university’s lecture rooms, laboratories, library, and student facilities. The tour was designed to give the students a feel of university life and to inspire them to set higher academic goals.
Ms. Lwando expressed satisfaction with the event, stating:
“We believe in shaping minds early and exposing students to opportunities in higher education. This engagement is part of our broader mission to bring education to life by making it accessible, relatable, and inspiring.”
The event ended on a high note with a group photo, leaving the pupils excited and motivated about their future career possibilities.
TAUZ continues to position itself as a student-centered institution committed to nurturing the next generation of leaders and professionals in Zambia and beyond.
